Chorley car showroom hit by serious fire
A car garage in Chorley has gone up in flames, requiring a total of thirty firefighters to attend the scene to extinguish the blaze.
The incident occurred at the Yarrow Bridge Garage on Bolton Road in Chorley, at around 2.20pm last Thursday (13th January). A spokesperson for the local fire service – which sent eight fire crews and an aerial platform ladder in response to an emergency call – described the fire at the car showroom as well alight when they attended the scene.
A passing motorist, Brian Shaw, has also spoken to a local newspaper describing what he saw, saying:
“The garage looks like it has been badly damaged, and a lot of the vehicles inside and out have been affected.
“It looked like the Yarrow Bridge pub next door had been evacuated too as all the doors were shut.”
It is thought that four of the garage’s five staff were working on the premises at the time of the fire, but no one has yet been reported injured. The fire service is currently investigating the cause of the fire, as it is not yet known what triggered the blaze.
