Firefighters battle Suffolk farm blaze
It has been reported that over 40 firefighters were called to put out a fire which started in equipment on a farm close to Ipswich this Wednesday afternoon.
Fire crews tackled the fire at Hill Farm on Shotley Road in Chelmondiston at around 2pm, and a huge plume of smoke was seen coming from the property.
The blaze is then said to have spread towards woodland in the vicinity, but firefighters eventually were able to stop the fire from reaching a local equestrian centre.
A spokesman for the fire service explained that the crews would be on site for some time to ensure the area is secured and under control.
If you own a farm or in control of a similar business it is imperative that your workers are sent on an appropriate fire awareness training course, which has been designed to give your employees a thorough grounding in fire safety.
When you send your staff on a course such as this, you can make sure that they will know how to react and what procedures to follow in the event of a fire. They will be given training on how to deal with the situation in hand and meet all current regulations for the workplace.
