The Fire Training Academy based in North Anston, was founded by former fire-fighter Terry Gormley. He wanted to use his practical and theoretical knowledge and skills to address the very real training needs of businesses and individuals, to keep the workplace safe.

In 2006 mandatory fire training for all employees became a legal requirement and The Fire Training Academy has risen to the challenge of delivering memorable and effective courses to a wide and enviable collection of clients. Part of the company's success is due in part to the use of not only the latest technology in their programmes, but also the way the course content is delivered.
